Put A Bow On It Paloma!

This is my FAIR DAY mani! We went to the opening night of our county fair last week and we took the little one.  He loved it and rode every ride he could, multiple times.  I'm more excited about the food, ferris wheel and animals than the major rides though (I guess I'm old!).

So for today's nails I didn't do any fair themed art, instead I chose to match the color to my cardigan I'm wearing tonight.  I absolutely LOVE how the main nails turned out on this mani, I can't stop looking at them!

Stone Cold Payton

Today I'm showing y'all a very simple tape mani, dark and vampy for fall but still has glitz. This was done using Zoya Payton, with China Glaze Stone Cold on the accent.

Zoya Payton is a dark cranberry to plum jelly base with holographic glitter scattered throughout.  It is a truly beautiful polish, and in sunlight it really lights up!  My accent nail I taped off with striping tape and used China Glaze Stone Cold, a dark grey shimmer with a matte finish.  Finished up with a coat of Seche Vite.

China Glaze Stone Cold, Fairy Dust & Flying Dragon

Hi y'all, today I have an all CG mani! This is two coats of CG Flying Dragon (neon purple shimmer), one light coat of CG Fairy Dust (holo glitter), laid down striping tape and did one coat CG Stone Cold and then clear coated.

VERY rushed mani, little to no cleanup at time of pictures

Goldie Wulung & L.A. Colors Metallic Blue

Today is a mani I did for a wedding, and it did not come out like I wanted but I'm sharing it with y'all anyways.  This mani was my first attempt at a tutorial from Lucy's Stash.  This is Goldie Wulung (pink) from BBW and L.A. Colors Metallic Blue (although it has no official name, it was in the Color Craze Metallics Collection)

I had an apparent brain lapse on the basics of formulas & color shades because I should have done a pink base with navy on top.  The navy was more sheer so I thought it would be better on the bottom, and failed to think through that pink wasn't likely to cover navy. I like the "reversed" accent nail much better, it has nicer clean sharp lines, with the pink on base.

ALSO- PLEASE NOTE!  My camera has stopped working, I just got it at Christmas so I will be filing a warranty claim ASAP.  Until then unfortunately, I will be taking my pictures with my phone (unless I can get my other camera to a reasonable working status)  I apologize and hope to have better quality ASAP

Scallop Mani & Haul Pics

Today I tried a design I've never done before, scallops :) This is a tape mani, but I used painter's tape instead of my usual scotch tape. I've got to say, I liked this a LOT better!

Natural light, Cloudy, Shows the orange flash

I started with a base coat of Orly Rock It, an awesome reddish fuchsia jelly base, with tons of red and golden orange shimmer, however that orange flash doesn't translate well on the nail.  Then I used craft scissors to cut the painter's tape in a scallop pattern, added Pure Ice Silver Mercedes (which Pure Ice is changing the name to Silver Star, per their site), then I added Wet N Wild Ebony Hates Chris.  I went back and added dots to my ring fingers with the smallest dotting tool.  I had a little bit of smearing with my topcoat from not floating the brush, but overall I'm happy with it!

The scissors I used

This is one coat of all polishes & one coat top coat :)  As far as application issues the only real problem I had was Ebony Hates Chris, i hate the brush, it's really stiff so it either leaves brush strokes & bald spots or it's really thick.  Silver Mercedes applies fine as long as you don't go back over anywhere as (like most metallics I've worn) it pulls.  Rock It was great, this is one moderate coat and it was fully opaque.

Now for the haul pics I got in today :)

I ordered a Barielle polish earlier this week for 20% off with free shipping, so that puts it around 57% off.  The rest are from Bloom during their 70% off closeout sale.

 All together
