Striping & Glitz

Hey y'all! Up for today is a black and white and glitter all over mix match mani :)  I was going for a dark, simple colored mani with lots of eye appeal and this definitely met expectations.  I was inspired by this post on the nail polish challenge.

First I used Finger Paints Where Art Renoir, a black polish with silver glitter, two coats for my base.  For my middle finger and the base for my ring finger I used a base of China Glaze Gossip over Gimlets then two coats of OPI In True Stefani Fashion.  On the ring finger I used double thick striping tape stripes and added FP Where Art Renoir on top.

Fifth Anniversary Nails

Today's mani is themed for my anniversary, based on our wedding tattoos.  My husband & I usually celebrate (little celebrations) both our wedding & dating anniversaries, the wedding one is today (5 years) and our dating one is in October (8 years).

Finger Paints Colorful Collage

This is one coat Pure Ice Silver Mercedes, with 2 coats Finger Paints Colorful Collage.  The accent nail is China Glaze Spontaneous, then CG Grape Pop, then CG Fairy dust.  The pictures on this aren't great because I didn't have time to take them until we were at a friend's house so the lighting was bad, sorry!

Also, apparently I'm pretty obsessed with Finger Paints Colorful Collage, this is the 3rd time I've worn it since I bought it less than 2 months ago.

Zoya Kimber & Finger Paints Colorful Collage

I grabbed this Finger Paints color on a whim at Sally's this weekend and I'm so glad I did because I love it! This is some super blingy holo glitter, in nearly all lights. The display didn't have a collection name though and I can't find any swatch info online for it either.

This is one coat Zoya Kimber and 2 thin coats Finger Paints Colorful Collage.

These are a little wonky right hand pictures because I didn't have time for a full gel set and I'm healing a split on my right hand. When I first started doing gel sets I over filed trying to blend the smile line and I was left with a super sensitive, red, dented in area that's finally growing out but when it got to the tip it split so now it's very short.

This is my new remover pump!  I saw someone post about one at cvs (i think) but could find  the post.  My cvs didn't have then in so no way to know if it's what i was looking but family dollar had them, and it was cheaper! It has acetone remover in it, but I'll probably fill it with acetone instead.

Turkey Day Nails

Hope y'all have a great Thanksgiving! Here are my Thanksgiving nails :)

One coat Wet N Wild Megalast Wet Cement, 2 coats Ulta Chocolate Kiss, one coat Finger Paints Fall of Surprises and one coat nyc matte topcoat.

Love how this matted glitter looks! The chocolate kiss is very sheer which is why i used the wet cement under it. This is my first matte manicure and while i love the look, the tip wear us horrible, not even had it on 12 hours and have touched up tips once and they need it again!

Saran wrap nails

These are my friends nails i did for a Halloween party this weekend. She wore a black and blue fairy costume to match.  This was my first attempt with this technique and it came out pretty well. There were a couple spots where the blue came up but it wasn't obvious. This is one coat China glaze shower together with wet n wild fastdry ebony hates Chris on top. One coat sally hansen insta-dri top coat.

I also scored some discount polish this weekend :) 3 polishes from sallys on clearance and one from amazon with a Swagbucks gift card! I had a $5 amazon gift card so i ordered this polish and a dotting tool set with free shipping on both items so 1.93 for 2 items :)

Finger Paints Tough Art to Follow 2.69 @ sallys

Lemming polish

Three years ago when i was having my nails done every few weeks at a salon, my nail guy picked a polish for me and i fell in love but forgot to go back and find it.
Every time i have shopped for polish since then, i look for something similar. No such luck online or in store. Too red, too purple, too black, right color but not enough shimmer/fleck, right shimmer wrong color. It has been incredibly disappointing. Until this weekend.
For reference, here is the one shot i have where you can see the original color, If anyone thinks the have a better dupe please let me know!

I ran in sallys 10 minutes before they closed while my husband and son circled the parking lot. I glanced over the China glaze display, looked at clearance, then checked out the finger paints rack. I find something i like, ask salesgirl for something to test it on and she doesn't have anything. She is nice enough to test it on her own finger for me and its my color! If not the same brand its a close dupe of whatever it was. Working off memory and the one badly lit picture i have where you can see my nails, the original may have had slightly more silver shimmer/glass fleck and the particles were larger. That gave it more of a brown tint than a red tint but its close enough to make me happy!
close up

So long story long, here it is. Finger paints sketch-y. Gorgeous plum-wine color with red and purple shimmer/glass fleck that flashes brown, red, purple, bronze, and wine. Sparkles in the sun and gorgeous grown up shade in regular lighting. Formula was great, two coats for full coverage. Shiny finish on it own but i prefer a top coat for depth and protection. Im absolutely in love with this color. And utterly excited i finally found it :)

Base coat, 2 coats sketch-y, one coat instadry clearly quick.

Frankenstein mani coming up later this week!

***EDIT: I found a better picture of the color in question! This is actually not very close to it, but I believe I have found the actual polish! ***
